Adalimumab-Atto falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.

Plumbagin, a constituent of Ceylon leadwort, has demonstrated immunosuppressant activity in animal research. Theoretically, Ceylon leadwort might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and others.

Amjevita (adalimumab-atto) is a biologic that calms an overactive immune system to treat conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, Crohn's disease, and psoriasis. The concern here is theoretical and comes only from lab and animal studies. Plumbagin, a compound in Ceylon Leadwort, has shown its own immune-affecting activity in test-tube and animal research, so on paper there's a question of whether it could nudge your immune balance in an unpredictable way alongside your medicine.

To be honest, we don't have human evidence showing this actually causes a problem, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, since Amjevita already lowers your defenses, I'd be cautious about adding a plant with unclear immune effects. Please run it by your rheumatologist or pharmacist before starting it.

Ceylon Leadwort (Plumbago zeylanica) is a plant long used in Ayurvedic and other traditional medicine systems, mainly for digestion, skin problems, and pain. Solid human studies are lacking, and the plant contains plumbagin, a compound that can irritate skin and tissues and may be unsafe in larger amounts.
