Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Fluticasone Furoate, Vilanterol Trifenatate
Fluticasone Furoate, Vilanterol Trifenatate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Devil's Claw interacts with.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw might inhibit CYP3A4, although this has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your Breo Ellipta inhaler. Both pieces of it, the steroid (fluticasone) and the breathing opener (vilanterol), are cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In test-tube studies, devil's claw seemed to slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in your body, more of the medicine could linger, which in theory might mean a little more steroid in your system or a stronger pull from the vilanterol, such as a faster heartbeat, jitteriness, or tremor.
I want to be honest though: this is only lab data, never confirmed in real people, so it's more of a maybe than a worry. Still, since I can't predict your product's strength, give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before pairing them.
