Mephenytoin falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Devil's Claw interacts with.

Theoretically, devil's claw might increase levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2C9.
In vitro research shows that devil's claw might inhibit CYP2C9, although this has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist with Mephenytoin (Mesantoin), an older seizure medicine. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C9 to help break this drug down. Lab testing hints that devil's claw might slow that enzyme a bit. If it did, mephenytoin could clear out of your body more slowly and build up, which might mean stronger effects and more side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, unsteadiness, or confusion.

That said, I want to be honest about the evidence. This idea comes only from test-tube studies, not from real people, so it's theoretical at this point. Still, since seizure medicines need steady, predictable levels, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two. Don't change your dose on your own.
