Methimazole falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Epistane interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive adverse hepatotoxic effects.
Epistane is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and more specifically a 17-alpha-alkylated androgen. Therefore, there is concern that epistane has hepatotoxic effects. Also, epistane is structurally similar to epitiostanol, which has been associated with hepatotixicity in a case series of four patients.

Here's the main worry with this combination: both your thyroid medicine and Epistane can be hard on the liver. Methimazole, on its own, occasionally irritates the liver, and Epistane is a methylated anabolic steroid that's well known for liver stress. Stacking two liver-stressing substances could, in theory, add up and raise your risk of trouble.

I'll be honest with you, this concern is based on how these substances behave (theoretical pharmacology), not on solid studies of the two together. Still, watch for warning signs like yellowing of your eyes or skin, dark urine, belly pain on the right side, nausea, or unusual tiredness. Beyond the liver, I'd strongly steer you away from Epistane altogether, since it's an illegal designer steroid that messes with your hormones. Please talk this over with your doctor or pharmacist.

What Is Methimazole Used For?

Brand name: Tapazole

Methimazole tablets are used in adults and children with hyperthyroidism (an overactive thyroid) due to Graves' disease or toxic multinodular goiter when surgery or radioactive iodine is not the right option. They work to lower thyroid hormone levels and ease symptoms.

Methimazole tablets are also used to bring thyroid hormone levels down before a patient undergoes thyroidectomy (thyroid surgery) or radioactive iodine treatment, making those procedures safer.
