Verapamil falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Epistane interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive adverse hepatotoxic effects.
Epistane is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and more specifically a 17-alpha-alkylated androgen. Therefore, there is concern that epistane has hepatotoxic effects. Also, epistane is structurally similar to epitiostanol, which has been associated with hepatotixicity in a case series of four patients.

Here the worry isn't about Epistane changing how much verapamil is in your blood. Instead, it's about your liver taking a double hit. Epistane is a methylated anabolic steroid that's known to stress and damage the liver, and verapamil can also occasionally raise liver enzymes or cause liver problems. Put them together and you may stack one liver strain on top of another.

I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these drugs behave, not on proven cases, so I don't want to alarm you. But Epistane is liver-toxic and illegal to sell as a supplement, and I'd genuinely steer you away from it. Watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness, and please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.

About Verapamil

What Is Verapamil Used For?

Brand names: Isoptin SR, Verelan, Isoptin, Calan SR, Verelan SR, Calan, Covera HS, Verap, Veramil

Verapamil tablets and film-coated tablets are used to treat angina — including vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina, unstable angina, and chronic stable angina — as well as certain abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) and high blood pressure (essential hypertension). For arrhythmias, regular-release tablets are used alongside digoxin to control heart rate in atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation, and to help prevent episodes of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), a type of rapid heartbeat.

Extended-release and sustained-release oral forms (tablets and capsules) are indicated specifically for high blood pressure. Verapamil hydrochloride injection is used in hospital settings for rapid conversion of SVT to normal rhythm and for temporary control of fast heart rates in atrial flutter or atrial fibrillation.
