Baricitinib falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Epistane interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive adverse hepatotoxic effects.
Epistane is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and more specifically a 17-alpha-alkylated androgen. Therefore, there is concern that epistane has hepatotoxic effects. Also, epistane is structurally similar to epitiostanol, which has been associated with hepatotixicity in a case series of four patients.

Here's the main worry with pairing these two: both can be hard on your liver. Epistane is a methylated anabolic steroid that's well known to stress the liver. Baricitinib (Olumiant), the JAK inhibitor you take for rheumatoid arthritis, alopecia, or COVID, can also raise liver enzymes in some people. Stack them together and you may add one liver burden on top of another.

To be honest, this concern is theoretical and based on how these substances behave, not on real cases of the two used together. Still, signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual fatigue deserve quick attention. Beyond that, epistane isn't a safe or legal supplement, so please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before using it at all.

About Baricitinib

What Is Baricitinib Used For?

Brand name: Olumiant

Olumiant (baricitinib) tablets are approved for three conditions in adults. It treats moderately to severely active rheumatoid arthritis in people who haven't responded well enough to one or more TNF blocker medications. It also treats severe alopecia areata (significant hair loss from an autoimmune condition).

Olumiant is additionally approved to treat COVID-19 in hospitalized adults who need supplemental oxygen, mechanical ventilation, or ECMO (a machine that does the work of the heart and lungs). Each use has specific limitations — for example, Olumiant should not be combined with other JAK inhibitors or certain strong immunosuppressants for rheumatoid arthritis or alopecia areata.
