Fluconazole falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Epistane interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive adverse hepatotoxic effects.
Epistane is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and more specifically a 17-alpha-alkylated androgen. Therefore, there is concern that epistane has hepatotoxic effects. Also, epistane is structurally similar to epitiostanol, which has been associated with hepatotixicity in a case series of four patients.

Here's the simple version: both of these can be hard on your liver, and stacking them may add up. Fluconazole, even on its own, occasionally raises liver enzymes and (rarely) causes more serious liver trouble. Epistane is a methylated anabolic steroid that's well known for stressing the liver. Put them together and you're asking your liver to handle two strains at once.

To be honest, this concern is mostly theoretical, based on how each one behaves rather than hard studies on the pair. Still, watch for warning signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain on the right side, or feeling unusually tired. Honestly, I'd steer clear of Epistane entirely. Please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before combining them.

Epistane is a synthetic anabolic steroid (a methylated 'designer steroid'), not a true dietary supplement or herb, even though it has been sold as a 'prohormone.' It is liver-toxic, can disrupt your natural hormones, and is illegal to sell as a supplement in the US under the Designer Anabolic Steroid Control Act. We strongly recommend avoiding it and talking with a doctor or pharmacist.

About Fluconazole

What Is Fluconazole Used For?

Brand names: Diflucan, Diflucan Injection

Fluconazole treats infections caused by Candida and Cryptococcus fungi. Diflucan tablets and oral suspension, fluconazole tablets, and fluconazole oral suspension and tablets are approved for vaginal yeast infections (vaginal candidiasis), mouth and throat yeast infections (oropharyngeal candidiasis), and esophageal candidiasis. All formulations, including the intravenous injection, are used for cryptococcal meningitis (a fungal infection of the brain lining). In smaller studies, fluconazole was also effective for Candida urinary tract infections, peritonitis (abdominal lining infection), and serious systemic infections such as candidemia (Candida in the bloodstream) and disseminated candidiasis.

Fluconazole is also used as preventive therapy: Diflucan, fluconazole tablets, fluconazole oral suspension, and fluconazole injection are all indicated to reduce the risk of candidiasis in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation who receive chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. Note that the oral suspension formulations are not approved for vaginal candidiasis — that indication applies only to Diflucan tablets/suspension and fluconazole tablets/tablet-suspension products.
