Demeclocycline falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Epistane interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive adverse hepatotoxic effects.
Epistane is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and more specifically a 17-alpha-alkylated androgen. Therefore, there is concern that epistane has hepatotoxic effects. Also, epistane is structurally similar to epitiostanol, which has been associated with hepatotixicity in a case series of four patients.

Here's the simple version: both of these can be tough on your liver, so using them together may add up. Epistane is a methylated anabolic steroid that's well known for stressing the liver, and demeclocycline (Declomycin), like other tetracycline antibiotics, can occasionally affect liver function too. Stacking two liver-stressors raises the chance of problems like nausea, belly pain, unusual tiredness, dark urine, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.

I'll be honest, this concern is mostly theoretical, based on how each one behaves rather than reports of the two together. Still, epistane is something I'd steer you away from entirely. It's not a true supplement and isn't legally sold as one. Please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before combining anything with your antibiotic.

About Demeclocycline

What Is Demeclocycline Used For?

Brand name: Declomycin

Demeclocycline Hydrochloride tablets are used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. These include Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus, Q fever, tick fevers, respiratory tract infections (including those caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae), cholera, plague, tularemia, brucellosis, relapsing fever, chancroid, and sexually transmitted infections such as lymphogranuloma venereum, nongonococcal urethritis, and gonorrhea (when penicillin cannot be used).

It is also used for certain skin and skin structure infections, bartonellosis, granuloma inguinale, actinomycosis, listeriosis, anthrax (when penicillin is contraindicated), and as an adjunct in acute intestinal amebiasis. In severe acne, it may be used as part of combination therapy. It should only be used for infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria that respond to it.
