Deucravacitinib falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Epistane interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive adverse hepatotoxic effects.
Epistane is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and more specifically a 17-alpha-alkylated androgen. Therefore, there is concern that epistane has hepatotoxic effects. Also, epistane is structurally similar to epitiostanol, which has been associated with hepatotixicity in a case series of four patients.

Here's the main worry with pairing these two: it's about your liver, not about one drug changing the other's blood levels. Epistane is a methylated anabolic steroid that's hard on the liver, and Sotyktu (deucravacitinib) can occasionally bump up liver enzymes on its own. Stacking them could, in theory, add up to more strain on your liver. This is a theoretical concern based on how each one behaves, not something proven in studies of the two together.

Realistically, liver irritation can show up as fatigue, belly pain on the right side, dark urine, or yellowing of the skin or eyes. Honestly, Epistane is a bigger red flag here than your prescription. It's not a legitimate supplement and we'd steer you away from it. Please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything with Sotyktu.

What Is Deucravacitinib Used For?

Brand name: Sotyktu

Sotyktu (deucravacitinib) is approved to treat two conditions in adults. First, it treats moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis in people who are candidates for systemic (body-wide) therapy or phototherapy (light therapy). It is not recommended to combine Sotyktu with other strong immune-suppressing medications for this use.

Second, Sotyktu is approved to treat active psoriatic arthritis in adults.
