Aspirin, Codeine Phosphate, Phenobarbital falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Jequirity interacts with.

Evidence from in vitro research suggests that constituents of jequirity beans can inhibit platelet aggregation. Theoretically, jequirity might increase the risk of bleeding when used with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs. Some anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), enoxaparin (Lovenox), heparin, ticlopidine (Ticlid), warfarin (Coumadin), and others.

The combination product you're asking about contains aspirin, which is the piece that matters here. Aspirin already thins the blood by keeping platelets from clumping together. Lab studies suggest jequirity may do something similar, so pairing the two could, in theory, add up and make bleeding or bruising more likely. Think easy bruising, nosebleeds, or a cut that takes longer to stop.

That said, this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube research, not real patient cases, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. The far bigger problem is that jequirity seeds contain abrin, a severe poison that simply should not be taken at all. Please skip the jequirity entirely, and check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything new with this medication.
