Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenylpropanolamine, Phenyltoloxamine
Chlorpheniramine, Phenylephrine, Phenylpropanolamine, Phenyltoloxamine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.
Some in vitro research suggests that moringa inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). However, other in vitro research suggests that moringa extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes. A pharmacokinetic study in patients with HIV shows no change in the pharmacokinetics of nevirapine, which is partially metabolized by CYP3A4, when administered concomitantly with moringa leaf powder 1.85 grams daily for 14 days.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination cold-and-allergy product (an antihistamine plus decongestant blend) is partly handled by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. The concern with moringa is that, in test-tube studies, it has gone both ways: sometimes it seemed to slow this enzyme down, and other times it seemed to speed it up. So in theory, your body could clear these ingredients a little slower (more drowsiness from chlorpheniramine, or more jitteriness, racing heart, or higher blood pressure from the decongestant) or a little faster (less relief).
Here's the reassuring part: this is based only on lab work, not real patients, and a human study with a similar drug showed no meaningful change. Food amounts of moringa are unlikely to matter. Still, run concentrated moringa supplements by your pharmacist first.

“Ephedra worries me most on this list. This four-ingredient cold medicine, which pairs the antihistamines chlorpheniramine and phenyltoloxamine with the decongestants phenylephrine and phenylpropanolamine (Naldecon, Decongest), already pushes blood pressure and heart rate upward, and the 44 stimulant supplements on file, everyday caffei…”

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.
