Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
LEVOTHYROXINE (Synthroid, others)
Animal research suggests that moringa aqueous leaf extract might reduce serum triiodothyronine (T3) concentrations by inhibiting the peripheral conversion of thyroxine (T4) to T3.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with moringa and your thyroid medicine. Your body has to convert T4 (the levothyroxine part) into the more active T3. Animal studies hint that concentrated moringa leaf extract might slow that conversion. If that holds true in people, it could mean a bit less active thyroid hormone working in your body, even though you're taking your usual dose.
In real life, that might look like the symptoms you take this medicine to avoid creeping back: tiredness, feeling cold, weight gain, or sluggishness. I want to be honest though, this is based only on lab and animal research, so it's more of a theoretical concern than a proven one. A sprinkle of moringa in food is unlikely to matter. Before adding a daily moringa supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.
