Zidovudine falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Ostarine interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use with hepatotoxic drugs might increase the risk of adverse hepatotoxic effects.
Some clinical research shows that ostarine can increase alanine aminotransferase, a marker of liver damage, in some patients. Additionally, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration warns that supplements containing SARMs, such as ostarine, have been associated with reports of liver toxicity and there are at least two reports of drug-induced liver injury attributed to the use of ostarine.

Here's the simple version: both Ostarine and zidovudine (Retrovir) can be hard on the liver, so using them together may stack up that risk. Zidovudine on its own is already known to sometimes raise liver enzymes and, less often, cause more serious liver trouble. Ostarine has been linked to liver injury too, and some studies show it can push up ALT, a blood marker that signals liver stress.

This concern is theoretical, based on how each one behaves rather than studies of the two combined, so I don't want to overstate it. Still, watch for warning signs like yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness. SARMs like Ostarine aren't FDA-approved, so please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before mixing anything with your HIV medicine.

It is not approved by the FDA, is banned in sports, and has been linked to liver injury and other serious harms, so it is not recommended for general use.

What Is Zidovudine Used For?

Brand names: Retrovir, Retrovir Injection

Zidovudine is used in combination with other antiretroviral medicines to treat HIV-1 infection in adults and children. It is available as capsules, tablets, oral solution, and — as Retrovir injection — intravenously for patients who cannot take oral forms.

Retrovir (zidovudine) capsules, oral solution, and injection are also approved to help prevent HIV-1 from passing from a pregnant mother to her baby. This prevention regimen involves treating the mother before and during labor, and then treating the newborn after birth. In most cases, other antiretroviral medicines are used alongside zidovudine for this purpose.
