Metronidazole falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS — the group Ostarine interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use of ostarine with CYP3A4 inhibitors could increase the effects and adverse effects of ostarine, although this is unlikely to be clinically significant.
Ostarine is partially metabolized by CYP3A4. However, clinical research shows that taking itraconazole, a potent inhibitor of CYP3A4, had minimal effects on the levels of ostarine in the body.

Here's the deal with this pairing. Metronidazole can act as a mild blocker of an enzyme called CYP3A4, and Ostarine is partly broken down by that same enzyme. In theory, slowing that pathway could let a bit more Ostarine linger in your body, which might bump up its effects and side effects. With Ostarine specifically, that means a higher chance of things like liver strain, since SARMs have been tied to liver injury.

That said, I want to keep this in perspective. Real-world research found that even a strong CYP3A4 blocker barely changed Ostarine levels, so metronidazole, a much weaker one, is unlikely to cause a meaningful problem. My bigger concern is Ostarine itself, an unapproved product with real risks. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before mixing the two.

Metronidazole treats three main types of infections. It's used for trichomoniasis (a sexually transmitted parasitic infection), amebiasis (an intestinal or liver infection caused by a parasite), and serious anaerobic bacterial infections — infections caused by bacteria that thrive without oxygen, which can affect the abdomen, skin, bones, lungs, and other areas.

Because sexual partners can pass trichomoniasis back and forth, both partners are typically treated at the same time, even if one has no symptoms.
