Norgestrel falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Uva Ursi interacts with.

Theoretically, uva ursi may decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro, uva ursi appears to inhibit CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version on pairing uva ursi with your norgestrel mini-pill. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down this hormone. In test-tube studies, uva ursi seems to slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in real life, slightly more norgestrel could linger in your body, which might mean a touch more of the usual progestin effects like irregular spotting, breast tenderness, headaches, or mood changes.

I want to be honest though: this is only seen in lab dishes, not in actual people, so it's theoretical for now. Norgestrel works as-is (it is not a prodrug), so it isn't likely to fail. Since uva ursi shouldn't be used long-term anyway, just give your pharmacist a heads-up before combining them.

Norethindrone progestin-only pills — sometimes called the "mini-pill" — are used solely to prevent pregnancy. They do not contain estrogen, which makes them an option for women who cannot or prefer not to use estrogen-containing contraceptives.

When taken perfectly (same time every day, no missed pills), fewer than 1 in 100 women will become pregnant in the first year. With typical use, that number rises to about 9 in 100 — mostly because of late or skipped pills. Consistency is everything with this method.
