Pemigatinib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Uva Ursi interacts with.

Theoretically, uva ursi may decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro, uva ursi appears to inhibit CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the basic idea with Pemigatinib (Pemazyre): your body clears it largely through a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. Lab studies suggest uva ursi may slow that same enzyme down. If that happened in people, less of the drug would get broken down, so more could build up in your system. Pemigatinib is not a prodrug, so higher levels generally mean stronger effects and a greater chance of side effects like mouth sores, dry eyes, nail or skin problems, low phosphate changes, diarrhea, or fatigue.

The reassuring part: this is only seen in test-tube research, not in real patients, so it's theoretical right now. Still, since this is a serious cancer medicine, please run any uva ursi use past your oncologist or pharmacist first.

Uva ursi is a traditional herb used mainly for urinary tract infections, and its leaves contain a compound called arbutin that may have antimicrobial effects in the urine. What Is Pemigatinib Used For?

Brand name: Pemazyre

Pemazyre (pemigatinib) is used to treat adults with previously treated, unresectable locally advanced or metastatic cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer) whose tumors have a specific genetic change called an FGFR2 fusion or rearrangement, confirmed by an FDA-approved test. This approval is based on tumor response rates; continued approval may depend on results from further confirmatory studies.

Pemazyre is also approved to treat adults with relapsed or refractory myeloid/lymphoid neoplasms (MLNs) — certain blood and bone marrow cancers — that carry an FGFR1 rearrangement and have come back or stopped responding to prior treatment.
