Vincristine Sulfate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Uva Ursi interacts with.

Theoretically, uva ursi may decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro, uva ursi appears to inhibit CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the basic idea. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear vincristine out of your system. In lab dish testing, uva ursi seemed to slow that enzyme down. If that were to happen in a real person, vincristine could linger longer and build up, which might mean stronger effects and more side effects. With vincristine, those side effects can include nerve problems like tingling, numbness, or weakness in the hands and feet, constipation, and low blood counts.

The important part: this slowdown has only been seen in the lab, not in actual patients, so it's theoretical. Still, vincristine is a serious chemotherapy drug, so I wouldn't add uva ursi without first checking with your oncologist or pharmacist.

Theoretically, uva ursi may alter the levels of drugs transported by P-glycoprotein.
In vitro, uva ursi appears to inhibit the multi-drug transporter protein, P-glycoprotein. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist with uva ursi and your vincristine. Vincristine is a chemotherapy drug that your body partly clears using a cellular pump called P-glycoprotein. In test-tube studies, uva ursi seems to block that pump a little. If that happened in people, vincristine could linger a bit longer and its effects, including nerve-related side effects like tingling, numbness, constipation, or muscle weakness, might be stronger.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It's only seen in the lab, never confirmed in actual patients, and the database rates it as minor. Still, vincristine is potent and given under close supervision, so please don't add uva ursi without checking with your oncologist or pharmacist first.

Uva ursi is a traditional herb used mainly for urinary tract infections, and its leaves contain a compound called arbutin that may have antimicrobial effects in the urine.
