Insulin Lispro-Aabc falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Cajeput Oil interacts with.

Animal studies suggest that cajeput oil might have hypoglycemic effects. Theoretically, taking cajeput oil with antidiabetes drugs could increase the risk for additive hypoglycemia. Monitor blood glucose levels closely. Some antidiabetes drugs include glimepiride (Amaryl), glyburide (DiaBeta, Glynase PresTab, Micronase), insulin, and others.

Lyumjev (insulin lispro-aabc) is a fast-acting mealtime insulin, so its whole job is to lower your blood sugar. The concern here is simple: in animal studies, compounds in cajeput oil appeared to nudge blood sugar down a bit too. If that effect carried over to people, stacking it on top of your insulin could push your sugar lower than you intend.

Keep in mind this is only lab and animal data, so it's theoretical, not proven in humans. Still, it's worth watching for signs of a low, like shakiness, sweating, dizziness, a racing heart, or confusion. If you want to use cajeput oil, check your numbers a little more closely at first and run it by your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything. Never swallow essential oils.
