Omeprazole, Sodium Bicarbonate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Cascara Sagrada interacts with.

Theoretically, cascara sagrada might decrease the effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research suggests that cascara sagrada can induce CYP3A4 enzymes, albeit to a much lower degree than rifampin, a known CYP3A4 inducer.

Here's the gist with Konvomep (omeprazole plus sodium bicarbonate) and cascara sagrada. In lab dish experiments, cascara appeared to gently speed up a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, which is one of the pathways your body uses to clear omeprazole. In theory, that could make your body break the omeprazole down a little faster, which might slightly weaken its acid-blocking effect and let some heartburn or reflux symptoms sneak back.

That said, I wouldn't lose sleep over it. This is rated a minor, possible interaction based only on test-tube data, and the effect was far weaker than known enzyme boosters. Cascara is also meant for short-term use only. If you do take both, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor, especially if your reflux seems less controlled.
