IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS
Why this applies to Emapalumab-Lzsg
Emapalumab-Lzsg falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the situation with Gamifant (emapalumab-lzsg): it's a powerful infused antibody that calms an overactive immune system in people with HLH, a serious and life-threatening condition. The concern with Ceylon Leadwort is that one of its compounds, plumbagin, has shown immune-affecting activity in lab and animal studies. In theory, layering it on top of an immunosuppressant could nudge how the immune system responds, though we honestly don't have human data to say what really happens.
I want to be straight with you: this is a theoretical worry, not something proven in people. But given how delicate HLH treatment is, I would not mix anything herbal in without your specialist's blessing. Please loop in your doctor or pharmacist before adding Ceylon Leadwort.
