Epcoritamab-bysp falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.

Plumbagin, a constituent of Ceylon leadwort, has demonstrated immunosuppressant activity in animal research. Theoretically, Ceylon leadwort might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and others.

Epcoritamab (Epkinly) is a bispecific antibody used for certain lymphomas. It works by helping your own T cells find and attack cancer B cells, so a healthy, active immune response is part of how it does its job. That's where the concern with Ceylon Leadwort comes in.

In lab and animal studies, the plumbagin in Ceylon Leadwort has shown immune-dampening activity. In theory, that could work against a therapy that actually relies on revving up your immune system. Keep in mind this is only test-tube and animal data, not proof in people, so the real risk is uncertain. Still, since Epcoritamab is a serious cancer treatment, I'd skip this supplement and check with your oncology team first.

Ceylon Leadwort (Plumbago zeylanica) is a plant long used in Ayurvedic and other traditional medicine systems, mainly for digestion, skin problems, and pain. Solid human studies are lacking, and the plant contains plumbagin, a compound that can irritate skin and tissues and may be unsafe in larger amounts. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it in pregnancy.
