Teclistamab-cqyv falls under IMMUNOSUPPRESSANTS — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.

Plumbagin, a constituent of Ceylon leadwort, has demonstrated immunosuppressant activity in animal research. Theoretically, Ceylon leadwort might interfere with immunosuppressive therapy. Immunosuppressant drugs include azathioprine (Imuran), basiliximab (Simulect), cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune), daclizumab (Zenapax), muromonab-CD3 (OKT3, Orthoclone OKT3), mycophenolate (CellCept), tacrolimus (FK506, Prograf), sirolimus (Rapamune), prednisone (Deltasone, Orasone), corticosteroids (glucocorticoids), and others.

Here's the thing about Tecvayli (teclistamab): it's a powerful injectable antibody used for multiple myeloma, and part of how it works is by ramping up your immune system to attack cancer cells. Ceylon Leadwort is grouped here with immune-affecting agents because its main compound, plumbagin, has shown immune-dampening activity. The worry, at least in theory, is that the plant could tug your immune system in a different direction than this medication is trying to.

I want to be straight with you, though: this concern comes only from lab and animal studies, not from people taking these two together. The real-world risk is uncertain. Since Tecvayli is a serious cancer treatment, I'd skip the supplement and run it by your oncology team before adding anything new.

Ceylon Leadwort (Plumbago zeylanica) is a plant long used in Ayurvedic and other traditional medicine systems, mainly for digestion, skin problems, and pain. Solid human studies are lacking, and the plant contains plumbagin, a compound that can irritate skin and tissues and may be unsafe in larger amounts. What Is Teclistamab-cqyv Injection Used For?

Brand name: Tecvayli

Tecvayli (teclistamab-cqyv) injection is used to treat adults with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma — a cancer of plasma cells in the bone marrow — whose disease has come back or stopped responding to earlier treatments.

Tecvayli is approved in two settings: as monotherapy for patients who have received at least four prior lines of therapy (including a proteasome inhibitor, an immunomodulatory agent, and an anti-CD38 monoclonal antibody); and in combination with daratumumab and hyaluronidase-fihj for patients who have received at least one prior line of therapy including a proteasome inhibitor and an immunomodulatory agent.
