Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS
Why this applies to Polatuzumab Vedotin-Piiq
Polatuzumab Vedotin-Piiq falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Epistane interacts with.
Epistane is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and more specifically a 17-alpha-alkylated androgen. Therefore, there is concern that epistane has hepatotoxic effects. Also, epistane is structurally similar to epitiostanol, which has been associated with hepatotixicity in a case series of four patients.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the simple version: both of these can be tough on your liver, so using them together could add up to more strain than either alone. Epistane is a methylated anabolic steroid that's well known to stress the liver, and Polivy (polatuzumab vedotin-piiq) can also raise liver enzymes and, in some people, cause liver injury as part of your lymphoma treatment.
This concern is theoretical, based on how each drug behaves rather than reports of the two being combined. Still, when you're on a serious cancer regimen, you don't want anything extra working against your liver. Honestly, Epistane isn't something I'd recommend at all. Please loop in your oncology team or pharmacist before using any supplement during treatment.

About Epistane
What is Epistane?
- Building muscle mass
- Increasing strength
- Cutting or losing body fat

Epistane is a synthetic anabolic steroid (a methylated 'designer steroid'), not a true dietary supplement or herb, even though it has been sold as a 'prohormone.' It is liver-toxic, can disrupt your natural hormones, and is illegal to sell as a supplement in the US under the Designer Anabolic Steroid Control Act. We strongly recommend avoiding it and talking with a doctor or pharmacist.
