Bendamustine Hydrochloride falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.

Laboratory evidence suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others.

Here's the gist for bendamustine (Bendeka): your liver uses an enzyme called CYP1A2 to help process this medicine. Lentinan, in lab and animal studies only, seems to speed up that enzyme. In theory, a faster enzyme could clear bendamustine a bit quicker and slightly lower its levels, which might mean a little less cancer-fighting punch from each dose.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. This has never actually been seen in people, it comes from test-tube and animal work, and bendamustine is a serious chemo drug your oncology team monitors closely. Please don't start or stop lentinan on your own. Just loop in your oncologist or pharmacist first so they can weigh it for your specific treatment.

What Is Bendamustine Injection Used For?

Brand name: Bendeka

Bendamustine hydrochloride injection is used to treat adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). It is also used for adults with indolent B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) — a slow-growing type of blood cancer — when the disease has continued to progress during or within six months of treatment with rituximab or a rituximab-containing regimen.

For CLL, how well bendamustine works compared to other first-line treatments (aside from chlorambucil) has not been fully established.
