Why this applies to Zopiclone

Zopiclone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

Here's the gist for your sleep aid. Zopiclone leans on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to be broken down and cleared from your body. Early lab research hints that lentinan may speed that enzyme up. If that held true in people, your body might clear zopiclone a little faster, which could mean it doesn't help you fall or stay asleep as well as usual.

The honest part: this is only test-tube and animal data, and it has not been seen in actual patients, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Zopiclone isn't a prodrug, so the direction points toward slightly weaker effect, not a buildup. If you notice your sleep slipping while using lentinan, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
