Here's the short version on pairing shiitake-derived lentinan with cyclobenzaprine. Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP1A2 to help break down cyclobenzaprine, and lab studies hint that lentinan might speed that enzyme up. If that happened, your body could clear the muscle relaxant a little faster, which in theory might make it work less well, so you'd notice less relief from that muscle pain, stiffness, or spasm.

The important thing to know is that this comes only from test-tube and animal research. It has not been seen in real people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you plan to use a lentinan supplement, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor first, and just keep an eye on whether your medicine still feels effective.

What Is Cyclobenzaprine Used For?

Brand names: Cyclobenzaprine, Flexeril, Cycloprine

Cyclobenzaprine tablets and extended-release capsules are used alongside rest and physical therapy to relieve muscle spasm caused by acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions — easing pain, tenderness, and limited movement. This use is intended for short-term treatment only (up to 2–3 weeks).

Tonmya, the sublingual (under-the-tongue) form of cyclobenzaprine, is separately indicated for the treatment of fibromyalgia in adults. It is not the same as the oral tablet or capsule formulations.
