Why this applies to Prednisone

Prednisone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

Here's the gist with these two together. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to clear prednisone out of your system. Lab and animal studies hint that lentinan may rev up that enzyme, which could mean your body breaks down prednisone a little faster than usual. The practical worry is a weaker steroid effect, so the condition you're treating (say arthritis flares, asthma, lupus, or a bad allergic reaction) might not stay as well controlled.

That said, this has only been seen in the lab, never confirmed in people, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Don't change your prednisone on your own, since stopping it suddenly is risky. Just loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding lentinan, especially with concentrated supplements.
