Lentinan + Aspirin, Omeprazole
Aspirin, Omeprazole brand name: Yosprala.
Aspirin, Omeprazole falls into 3 drug categories that Lentinan can interact with; the most serious is rated moderate. Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 2C19 (CYP2C19).

These two interact in 3 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 3 Interactions?
Lentinan interacts with whole categories of medication. Aspirin, Omeprazole falls into 3 of those categories, so it can interact with Lentinan in 3 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) SUBSTRATES
1 of 3Why this applies to Aspirin, Omeprazole
Aspirin, Omeprazole falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C19 (CYP2C19) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP2C19 include proton pump inhibitors including omeprazole (Prilosec), lansoprazole (Prevacid), and pantoprazole (Protonix); diazepam (Valium); carisoprodol (Soma); nelfinavir (Viracept); and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing with Yosprala, which pairs aspirin with omeprazole. The omeprazole half is the part that matters here. It's a proton pump inhibitor that your liver processes using an enzyme called CYP2C19. Some early lab and animal research hints that lentinan (a shiitake mushroom beta-glucan) may speed that enzyme up. If that happened in people, your body could clear omeprazole a little faster, meaning less stomach-acid protection. That's worth knowing, because the whole point of including omeprazole is to shield your stomach from aspirin's ulcer risk.
I want to be honest, though: this has only been seen in the lab, never confirmed in humans, so it's more theoretical than proven. Still, if you notice heartburn or stomach upset, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 3Aspirin, Omeprazole also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for your Yosprala (aspirin plus omeprazole). Lab studies hint that lentinan may speed up an enzyme called CYP3A4, which is one of the liver's drug-clearing systems. If that happened in people, drugs handled by that enzyme could clear a little faster and work a bit less. With Yosprala, the omeprazole piece partly relies on this pathway, so in theory it could become slightly less effective at lowering stomach acid, which is the part meant to protect you from an aspirin-related ulcer.
The honest part: this is only test-tube and animal data, and it has never been reported in actual patients. So I wouldn't be alarmed. Still, since this combo is protecting your heart and stomach, check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding lentinan, and watch for any return of heartburn or stomach upset.

OMEPRAZOLE (Prilosec)
3 of 3Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for Yosprala, which pairs aspirin with the acid-reducer omeprazole. The interaction on file involves the omeprazole half. In animal studies, lentinan seemed to speed up an enzyme called CYP2C19 that breaks down omeprazole. If that holds true in people, your body could clear the omeprazole a bit faster, leaving less of it around to calm stomach acid.
Why does that matter? In this combo, omeprazole is there to protect your stomach from aspirin. If it works less well, you might notice more heartburn or stomach upset, and over time a higher chance of irritation or ulcer. This is only based on lab and animal research, so it's far from certain. Don't change anything on your own. Just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up if you want to try lentinan.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aspirin, Omeprazole page
“Yosprala pairs aspirin, a blood thinner, with omeprazole, an acid reducer whose job is to shield the stomach from that aspirin, so this list carries real weight and warrants genuine care. Of the 318 supplements and herbs on file, nine are rated major, and understanding those first matters more than reading the rest.”

About Lentinan
What is Lentinan?
- Immune support
- Used alongside cancer treatment
- Anti-inflammatory
- General wellness/tonic
- Antimicrobial support
Lentinan is a beta-glucan polysaccharide from shiitake mushrooms that is studied mainly as an immune-modulating add-on to cancer chemotherapy, where it is given by injection in a few countries. Evidence for oral supplements is limited, and quality varies widely between products. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using it, especially if you have a health condition or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
