Lentinan + Bendamustine
Bendamustine brand names: Treanda, Belrapzo, Vivimusta.
Lentinan has a moderate interaction with Bendamustine. Laboratory evidence suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2).

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Bendamustine
Bendamustine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for bendamustine (Treanda, Belrapzo): this chemo drug is partly broken down by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Lab and animal studies hint that lentinan may rev up that enzyme. If that happened in real life, your body could clear bendamustine a bit faster, which in theory might mean slightly less drug working against the cancer.
I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. It's only test-tube and animal data, and it has not been seen in actual patients. There's a real irony too, since lentinan is itself studied as a chemo add-on. Bendamustine is serious medicine given by your cancer team, so don't add lentinan on your own. Check with your oncologist or pharmacist first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Bendamustine page
“Bendamustine (Treanda, Belrapzo, Vivimusta) is IV chemotherapy for chronic lymphocytic leukemia and certain lymphomas, and the liver clears it through an enzyme called CYP1A2. That enzyme is why nearly all 87 supplements on this page appear here, since about 80 of them can push CYP1A2 up or down, which could either raise side effects o…”

What is Lentinan?
- Immune support
- Used alongside cancer treatment
- Anti-inflammatory
- General wellness/tonic
- Antimicrobial support
Lentinan is a beta-glucan polysaccharide from shiitake mushrooms that is studied mainly as an immune-modulating add-on to cancer chemotherapy, where it is given by injection in a few countries.
