Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include amitriptyline (Elavil), haloperidol (Haldol), ondansetron (Zofran), propranolol (Inderal), theophylline (Theo-Dur, others), verapamil (Calan, Isoptin, others), and others.

Here's the gist for Clomipramine (Anafranil): your liver uses an enzyme called CYP1A2 to help break this medicine down. Lab and animal studies hint that lentinan may speed that enzyme up. If that happened in people, your body could clear clomipramine a little faster, which might lower its levels and make it work less well for your OCD symptoms.

I want to be honest about the evidence though. This is only test-tube and animal data, and it has never actually been reported in humans, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Clomipramine isn't a prodrug, so the direction here is reduced effect, not extra side effects. Still, before adding a lentinan supplement, run it past your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on how you're feeling.

Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine (Tofranil) and amitriptyline (Elavil); antipsychotics such as haloperidol (Haldol), risperidone (Risperdal), and chlorpromazine (Thorazine); beta-blockers such as propranolol (Inderal), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), and carvedilol (Coreg); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); and others.
