Theoretically, concomitant use might increase the risk for stimulant adverse effects.
Oolong tea contains caffeine. There is evidence that using ephedrine with caffeine might increase the risk of serious life-threatening or debilitating adverse effects such as hypertension, myocardial infarction, stroke, seizures, and death. Tell patients to avoid taking caffeine with ephedrine and other stimulants.

Here's the thing to watch with this combination product: it already contains ephedrine, a stimulant, plus aminophylline (a theophylline source that also revs you up). Oolong tea brings caffeine to the party, so you're essentially stacking stimulant on top of stimulant. That can push things like a racing or pounding heart, a jittery or shaky feeling, trouble sleeping, anxiety, and higher blood pressure.

While the strongest warnings come from anecdotal reports, the concern is real enough that pairing ephedrine with caffeine has been linked to dangerous events like big blood pressure spikes, heart rhythm problems, and seizures. A cup now and then is different from loading up, but please don't change anything on your own. Check with your pharmacist or doctor about how much tea, if any, is okay for you.

Here's the simple version: this old combo medicine (Amesec) already packs two stimulants, the asthma drug aminophylline (a relative of caffeine) and ephedrine. Oolong tea adds even more caffeine on top. Stacking stimulants can pile up the jittery side effects, so you might feel a racing or pounding heart, shaky hands, trouble sleeping, anxiety, or a bump in blood pressure.

This is mostly an expert-opinion concern rather than something proven in studies, so a single cup probably won't cause trouble for most folks. Still, since aminophylline already runs close to its safe limit, I'd keep your tea modest and watch how you feel. If your heart races or you feel wired, please check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.
