Treprostinil (IV) falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Oolong Tea interacts with.

Theoretically, oolong tea might increase the risk of bleeding if used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Oolong tea contains caffeine. Caffeine is reported to have antiplatelet activity. Theoretically, the caffeine in oolong tea might increase the risk of bleeding when used concomitantly with these agents. However, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for treprostinil (Remodulin), the IV medicine that helps open blood vessels in pulmonary hypertension. One of its known effects is that it can make platelets a little less sticky, so it slightly raises your bleeding tendency on its own. The thought here is that the caffeine in oolong tea may also have a mild antiplatelet effect, and stacking the two together could, in theory, nudge your bleeding risk a bit higher.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it comes from lab and animal data only, and it has not actually been reported in people. A regular cup or two of oolong is unlikely to cause trouble. Still, if you notice easy bruising, nosebleeds, or bleeding that won't stop, or if you drink large amounts or use caffeine pills, check in with your doctor or pharmacist.

What Is Treprostinil Injection Used For?

Brand name: Remodulin

Treprostinil injection is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH, WHO Group 1) — high blood pressure in the arteries that supply the lungs. It works to reduce the symptoms that make exercise difficult. Clinical studies included patients with moderate-to-severe PAH symptoms (NYHA Class II–IV) due to idiopathic or heritable PAH, PAH related to congenital heart defects, and PAH related to connective tissue diseases.

It is also used for PAH patients who need to transition off epoprostenol — a related medication — to slow the worsening of their condition during that switch. The risks and benefits of the transition should be carefully discussed with a specialist before starting.
