These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Puravive interacts with whole categories of medication. Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Puravive in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs
1 of 2Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen
Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen falls under Anticoagulant/Antiplatelet Drugs — the group Puravive interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing with Combogesic: it's a combo of acetaminophen and ibuprofen. The ibuprofen half is what matters most here. Ibuprofen is an NSAID, and on its own it already nudges your platelets a little so blood doesn't clot quite as fast. Puravive contains a few ingredients (like Panax ginseng, propolis, and berberine from Phellodendron) that may have a mild blood-thinning effect too. Stack them and you could, in theory, bruise more easily or be slower to stop bleeding.
I'll be honest, the evidence here is weak and mostly from lab or animal studies, so don't panic. Still, if you take any blood thinner or notice unusual bruising or stomach upset, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates
2 of 2Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen also falls under Cytochrome P450 2C9 (Cyp2C9) Substrates.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
The piece of Combogesic that matters here is the ibuprofen. Your liver clears ibuprofen partly through an enzyme called CYP2C9. Puravive contains quercetin, which can mildly slow that enzyme down. If ibuprofen is cleared more slowly, a bit more can build up in your blood, which could nudge up the usual ibuprofen side effects like stomach upset, heartburn, or, with regular use, irritation of the stomach lining or effects on your kidneys and blood pressure.
This is a possible, modest interaction based on limited evidence (a study used a related drug, diclofenac, not ibuprofen itself). The acetaminophen half is handled by different pathways and isn't really affected here. Occasional use is unlikely to cause trouble, but if you take Combogesic often or have stomach or kidney concerns, check with your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Puravive
What is Puravive?
- Weight management
- Metabolism support
- Energy levels
- General wellness
- Stress and brain health
Puravive is a branded, multi-ingredient capsule marketed mainly for weight loss by claiming to boost brown fat activity, but there is no published, independent clinical research showing the product itself works for this purpose. Some individual ingredients have been studied in laboratory or small human studies, but those results do not prove the finished blend is safe or effective. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have health conditions or take medications.
