These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Puravive interacts with whole categories of medication. Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Puravive in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Minor).
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
1 of 2Why this applies to Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital
Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital falls under Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates — the group Puravive interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination headache pill has a few moving parts, but the one that matters here is ergotamine. Ergotamine is cleared by the CYP3A4 enzyme, and Puravive contains Panax ginseng, which can nudge that enzyme either way. If ginseng slows CYP3A4, ergotamine could build up and raise the risk of its classic side effects: cold or tingling hands and feet, leg cramping, nausea, and in rare cases problems with blood flow. If it speeds the enzyme up instead, the headache relief could fade a bit.
Honestly, the evidence here is weak and the findings even contradict each other, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, ergotamine has a narrow safe range, so it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before adding Puravive.
Stimulant Drugs
2 of 2Belladonna, Caffeine, Ergotamine, Pentobarbital also falls under Stimulant Drugs.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the simple version. Your combination medicine (Micomp PB) already contains caffeine, which is a stimulant. Puravive includes Panax ginseng, an herb that has shown mild stimulant-like effects in some studies. Stacking the two could, in theory, nudge caffeine's usual effects a little higher, think jitteriness, a faster or pounding heartbeat, restlessness, or trouble sleeping.
The good news: this is rated as a minor and unlikely interaction, and the evidence behind it is weak. For most people it won't cause real trouble. Still, if you notice extra jitters or a racing heart after starting Puravive, that's worth mentioning. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding this supplement, especially since the ergotamine and pentobarbital in your medicine deserve a careful review too.

About Puravive
What is Puravive?
- Weight management
- Metabolism support
- Energy levels
- General wellness
- Stress and brain health
Puravive is a branded, multi-ingredient capsule marketed mainly for weight loss by claiming to boost brown fat activity, but there is no published, independent clinical research showing the product itself works for this purpose. Some individual ingredients have been studied in laboratory or small human studies, but those results do not prove the finished blend is safe or effective. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have health conditions or take medications.
