Puravive + Clinafloxacin
Clinafloxacin brand name: Clinafloxacin.
Puravive has a minor interaction with Clinafloxacin. Puravive contains quercetin. The simultaneous use of quercetin and OATP substrates (the drug in question in this interaction is reported to be an OATP substrate) may theoretically enhance their effects and adverse effects.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
Organic Anion-Transporting Polypeptide Substrates (Oatp)
Why this applies to Clinafloxacin
Clinafloxacin falls under Organic Anion-Transporting Polypeptide Substrates (Oatp) — the group Puravive interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: Puravive contains quercetin, a plant compound that can gently block a transporter called OATP, which helps move certain drugs into and out of cells. Clinafloxacin (an antibiotic in the fluoroquinolone family) is reported to ride on this same transporter. So in theory, taking the two together could slow how your body handles the antibiotic and let a little more of it linger, which might slightly raise the odds of typical side effects like nausea, an upset stomach, or tendon or nerve complaints.
I want to be honest about how soft this signal is. It's rated minor and is mostly theoretical, based on lab work and a small pravastatin study, not on clinafloxacin itself. Still, since this is an antibiotic, just give your pharmacist or doctor a heads-up before combining them.
What These Ratings Mean
Every interaction above is graded three ways — here’s the key to each label.
Clinically significant. Avoid the combination, or use only under close professional supervision.
Usually worth avoiding or managing — may need monitoring, a dose change, or timing apart.
Generally not serious. Be aware of it and mention it to your pharmacist.
- LikelyWell-controlled human studies have demonstrated the likely existence of this interaction.
- ProbableInteraction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports.
- PossibleInteraction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
- UnlikelyInteraction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans.
- AHigh-quality meta-analysis (quantitative systematic review).
- BCase-control study.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Clinafloxacin page
“If you have been prescribed clinafloxacin, a quinolone antibiotic, start with the four interactions rated major, because they all do the same thing: apple, grapefruit, and orange juice, along with activated charcoal, can sharply cut how much of the drug you absorb, and an antibiotic that never reaches your bloodstream cannot clear the…”

About Puravive
What is Puravive?
- Weight management
- Metabolism support
- Energy levels
- General wellness
- Stress and brain health
Puravive is a branded, multi-ingredient capsule marketed mainly for weight loss by claiming to boost brown fat activity, but there is no published, independent clinical research showing the product itself works for this purpose. Some individual ingredients have been studied in laboratory or small human studies, but those results do not prove the finished blend is safe or effective. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before trying it, especially if you have health conditions or take medications.
