Mometasone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Uva Ursi interacts with.

Theoretically, uva ursi may decrease the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro, uva ursi appears to inhibit CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for mometasone (Elocon, Asmanex). Your body uses a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear this steroid. In lab dish studies, uva ursi seems to slow that enzyme down, which in theory could let mometasone linger a bit longer and act a little stronger. That has not actually been shown in people, so this is more of a theoretical concern than a proven problem.

On top of that, mometasone cream stays mostly on the skin and asthma inhalers act mainly in the lungs, so very little reaches your bloodstream to begin with. A meaningful interaction here is unlikely. Still, since uva ursi can stress the liver, it's worth running it past your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Mometasone Furoate topical products are used to relieve the inflammation and itching (pruritus) that come with corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses — a broad category of skin conditions that respond to steroid treatment.

Mometasone Furoate Topical Solution (Lotion) is specifically indicated for these skin conditions in patients 12 years of age and older. Mometasone Furoate cream may be used in adults and in children 2 years of age and older.
