    “Orally, uva ursi may potentially cause retinal toxicity due to its hydroquinone content, which reduces melanin synthesis. A 56-year-old female developed bilateral bull's-eye maculopathy, paracentral scotomas, and retinal thinning after 3 years of uva ursi tea ingestion.

    Taking around 20 grams of uva ursi orally is reported to supply up to one gram of hydroquinone, which can theoretically cause tinnitus (4).”

Uva ursi is a traditional herb used mainly for urinary tract infections, and its leaves contain a compound called arbutin that may have antimicrobial effects in the urine. Evidence in people is limited, and because high doses or long-term use may be harmful to the liver and could be toxic, it should only be used short-term and with guidance from a healthcare professional. What Is Nadolol Used For?

Brand names: Corgard, Nadolol

Nadolol tablets are used for two main conditions: high blood pressure (hypertension) and angina pectoris (ongoing chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart). Lowering high blood pressure reduces the risk of stroke and heart attack.

For high blood pressure, nadolol may be prescribed on its own or combined with other blood pressure medications, especially thiazide-type diuretics (water pills). For angina, it is used for long-term management to help reduce how often chest pain occurs.
