Here's the gist for your Konvomep (omeprazole with sodium bicarbonate). Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2C19 to break omeprazole down and clear it out. In lab studies, bacopa appears to mildly slow that same enzyme. If that played out in real life, omeprazole could hang around a bit longer and build up, which in theory might mean more of its effects or side effects, like headache, nausea, gas, or stomach upset.

But I want to be honest about the strength of this. This is based only on test-tube data, and we don't actually know if it matters in people. Omeprazole is generally forgiving, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, mention both to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on how you feel.

Here's the gist: this combo (omeprazole with sodium bicarbonate) is partly cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP2C9. In test-tube studies, bacopa might slow that enzyme down a little. If it does, slightly more omeprazole could hang around in your body, which in theory could nudge up its usual side effects like headache, nausea, stomach upset, gas, or diarrhea. Omeprazole is not a prodrug, so more of it means a bit more drug effect, not less.

I want to be straight with you, though: this is only laboratory evidence, and the studies actually disagree with each other. For most people, taking bacopa alongside this medication likely won't cause a noticeable problem. Still, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding bacopa.

Here's the short version: this is a very theoretical concern. Lab studies suggest bacopa might slow down an enzyme called CYP3A4, which helps clear certain drugs. Omeprazole is partly handled by that enzyme (though it leans more heavily on a different one, CYP2C19). If bacopa did slow its breakdown, you could in theory see a bit more omeprazole in your system and slightly more of its usual effects, like headache, stomach upset, or gas.

That said, the evidence here comes only from test-tube studies, and even those disagree. For most people taking this acid-reducing combo, occasional bacopa is unlikely to cause real trouble. Still, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor so they can keep an eye on things.
