This combination product (Hycomine Compound) contains hydrocodone, an opioid that your liver activates through the CYP2D6 enzyme. Plumbagin, a compound in Ceylon Leadwort, has slowed down CYP2D6 in lab dishes. Because hydrocodone partly relies on that enzyme to become its more active form, blocking it could in theory blunt some of the pain relief, while leaving more of the parent drug around. The effect on a single mixed product like this is hard to predict.
Here's the honest part: this interaction has only been seen in test tubes, never reported in real people, so it's theoretical. Still, since opioids carry real risks (drowsiness, slowed breathing, constipation), it's worth running it past your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two.

This combo pill mostly matters here because of the caffeine, which your body clears using an enzyme called CYP1A2. In lab dishes, the plumbagin in Ceylon Leadwort slowed that same enzyme down. In theory, that could let caffeine linger longer, so you might feel jittery, have trouble sleeping, a racing heart, or feel anxious, especially if you're already drinking coffee or soda.
I'll be honest with you though: this is only seen in test-tube studies, never reported in real people, so it's more of a heads-up than a red alert. The acetaminophen, hydrocodone, chlorpheniramine, and phenylephrine pieces aren't really driven by CYP1A2. If you're considering this supplement, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

This combo product (Hycomine Compound) packs in several medicines, and the one that matters most here is hydrocodone, the opioid painkiller. Hydrocodone is partly broken down by an enzyme called CYP3A4. Ceylon Leadwort contains plumbagin, which slowed down this same enzyme in lab dish studies. If that translated to real life, hydrocodone could clear more slowly and build up, leading to stronger effects like extra drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing.
I want to be honest about the evidence, though: this is only test-tube data and has never been reported in actual people, so it's theoretical. Still, with an opioid on board, I'd play it safe. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them.

Of the five ingredients in this combo product, the one tied to this interaction is the acetaminophen. Ceylon Leadwort contains plumbagin, which in lab dishes has been shown to slow down an enzyme called CYP2E1. Your liver uses that same enzyme to handle a portion of acetaminophen. In theory, if that pathway is blocked, a bit more acetaminophen could linger in your system.
Here is the reassuring part: this has only been seen in test-tube and animal research, never confirmed in real people, so I would not lose sleep over it. Still, since acetaminophen can stress the liver in large or frequent doses, it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist before pairing it with concentrated Leadwort supplements. Watch out for stacking other acetaminophen products on top of this one too.
