These two interact in 3 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 3 Interactions?
Ceylon Leadwort interacts with whole categories of medication. Aspirin, Hydrocodone falls into 3 of those categories, so it can interact with Ceylon Leadwort in 3 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES
1 of 3Why this applies to Aspirin, Hydrocodone
Aspirin, Hydrocodone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination pill pairs aspirin with hydrocodone, an opioid for pain. Here's the wrinkle worth knowing: hydrocodone is partly a prodrug. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to turn some of it into hydromorphone, a stronger painkiller. Ceylon Leadwort contains plumbagin, which in lab tests slowed down that same enzyme.
If that happened in your body, less hydrocodone would convert to its stronger form, so you might get less pain relief than expected. The good news: this has only been seen in test tubes, never in real people, so it's theoretical and the evidence is weak. Everyday cooking amounts are unlikely to matter. Still, before adding this supplement, please check with your pharmacist or doctor.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 3Aspirin, Hydrocodone also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for this combo product. The hydrocodone part of your medicine is processed by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab tests (not in people yet), the plumbagin in Ceylon Leadwort slowed that same enzyme down. If that held true in the body, hydrocodone could clear more slowly and build up, which might mean extra drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or in a worst case slowed breathing. The aspirin portion isn't really affected this way.
Keep in mind this is only test-tube evidence, so it's theoretical and hasn't been seen in real patients. Still, since opioids carry real risks, I'd run it past your pharmacist or doctor before pairing the two rather than guessing.

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS
3 of 3Aspirin, Hydrocodone also falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing to keep in mind with this combination: your medication contains aspirin, which already thins the blood a bit by making platelets less sticky. In animal studies, Ceylon Leadwort root has also slowed platelet clumping and made bleeding take longer. Stacking the two could, in theory, add up and raise your bleeding risk a little more.
What might that look like in real life? Easier bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or a cut that's slow to stop. I'll be honest with you though, this is based only on lab and animal research, not human studies, so it's more of a caution than a proven problem. The hydrocodone part isn't really involved here. Before mixing them, just run it by your pharmacist or doctor.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Aspirin, Hydrocodone page
“Combining supplements with aspirin and hydrocodone (Lortab ASA, Alor 5 500) deserves real vigilance, because this medication carries two separate kinds of risk. Aspirin thins the blood, and by far the largest share of these interactions can add to that effect and raise bleeding risk.”

Ceylon Leadwort (Plumbago zeylanica) is a plant long used in Ayurvedic and other traditional medicine systems, mainly for digestion, skin problems, and pain. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it in pregnancy.
