ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Insulin Glargine, Lixisenatide
Insulin Glargine, Lixisenatide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Ceylon Leadwort interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Soliqua combines two diabetes medicines: insulin glargine (a long-acting insulin) and lixisenatide (a GLP-1 medicine). Both work to lower your blood sugar. Here's the catch with Ceylon Leadwort: in animal studies, it has pushed blood sugar in both directions, sometimes up and sometimes down. We haven't seen this play out in people yet, so this is really a theoretical concern based on lab and animal research.
The worry is that if it lowers blood sugar on top of your Soliqua, you could dip too low. Watch for shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or a fast heartbeat. If it raised your sugar instead, your numbers might run higher than usual. Please don't change your Soliqua dose on your own. If you want to try this supplement, check with your pharmacist or doctor first and keep a close eye on your glucose readings.

“Soliqua 100/33 pairs a long-acting insulin, glargine, with lixisenatide, so its whole job is pushing blood sugar down, and that is also what most of the 242 supplements and herbs on this list do. The overlap earns real caution here.”

Ceylon Leadwort (Plumbago zeylanica) is a plant long used in Ayurvedic and other traditional medicine systems, mainly for digestion, skin problems, and pain.
