Ceylon Leadwort + Omadacycline (IV)
Omadacycline (IV) brand name: Nuzyra.
We found no known interaction between Ceylon Leadwort and Omadacycline (IV) in our sources. Absence of a documented interaction is not the same as proven safety, and does not guarantee one does not exist. Do not start, stop, or change a medication or supplement based on this page; confirm with your pharmacist or doctor first.
Ceylon Leadwort and Omadacycline (IV)
We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.
No Known Interaction Found
We did not find a documented interaction between Omadacycline (IV) and Ceylon Leadwort in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.
If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Omadacycline (IV)
Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Omadacycline (IV) is filed under a single classification — tetracycline antibiotics. Ceylon Leadwort has documented interactions with 10 drug classes — the most serious being anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs (moderate), antidiabetes drugs (moderate) and cytochrome p450 1a2 (cyp1a2) substrates (moderate) — and none of Omadacycline (IV)’s classifications are among them.
Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

About Ceylon Leadwort
What is Ceylon Leadwort?
- Digestive complaints and poor appetite
- Skin conditions and wounds (applied to the skin)
- Joint pain and swelling
- Traditional 'metabolism-boosting' tonics
- Antimicrobial folk remedy
Ceylon Leadwort (Plumbago zeylanica) is a plant long used in Ayurvedic and other traditional medicine systems, mainly for digestion, skin problems, and pain. Solid human studies are lacking, and the plant contains plumbagin, a compound that can irritate skin and tissues and may be unsafe in larger amounts. Talk to a pharmacist or doctor before using it, and avoid it in pregnancy.
Plumbago zeylanica · Plumbaginaceae · Mainly the root and root bark; sometimes leaves · Dried root powder, decoctions, traditional pastes and oils, and capsules
An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Ceylon Leadwort is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Ceylon Leadwort record says about it on its own.
Ceylon Leadwort: dosing
There is no well-established or standardized dose for Ceylon Leadwort. Traditional preparations vary widely, and the amount of plumbagin in a product can be hard to know.If you choose to use a commercial product, follow the directions on the label and do not exceed them. Because of safety concerns, it is best to start only after talking with a pharmacist or doctor. Do not use the raw plant on your skin or take homemade preparations without guidance.

About Omadacycline Injection
What Is Omadacycline Injection Used For?
Brand name: Nuzyra
Nuzyra (omadacycline) injection is used in adults to treat two types of serious bacterial infections: community-acquired bacterial pneumonia (CABP) — a lung infection picked up outside of a hospital — and acute bacterial skin and skin structure infections (ABSSSI), which include serious skin infections such as those caused by MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus).
Nuzyra works only against bacterial infections. It is not effective against viral illnesses like the flu or common cold. Your doctor will prescribe it only when a bacterial infection is confirmed or strongly suspected, to help prevent the growth of antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
