Corydalis yanhusuo contains berberine. In vitro research and preliminary clinical evidence show that berberine can inhibit CYP2D6. Theoretically, Corydalis yanhusuo might also inhibit CYP2D6.

Here's the idea behind this pairing. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to help break down dextroamphetamine, the medication in the Xelstrym patch. Corydalis contains compounds (including berberine) that may slow that enzyme down. If that happens, a bit more of the drug could linger in your system than usual, which might nudge up its stimulant effects.

In real terms, that could mean things like a faster or pounding heartbeat, higher blood pressure, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, or a reduced appetite. I want to be honest though: this is theoretical, based on lab findings rather than solid human studies, so the actual risk may be small. Still, since a patch delivers drug steadily, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
