Here's the gist with these two together. Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C9 to help clear Zileuton out of your system. Lab studies hint that Devil's Claw might slow that enzyme down a bit. If it does, Zileuton could linger longer and build up, which might lead to more of its usual side effects, things like headache, nausea, stomach upset, or muscle aches.

Now, the honest part: this is only seen in test-tube research, not in actual people, so we really don't know if it matters in real life. I wouldn't lose sleep over it, but since Zileuton already needs liver checks, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Devil's Claw.

Here's the basic idea with Devil's Claw and Zileuton. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to help clear Zileuton, and lab studies hint that Devil's Claw might slow that enzyme down a bit. If that happened in real life, Zileuton could build up slightly and you might notice more of its usual side effects, like an upset stomach, headache, or feeling more tired than normal.

I want to be straight with you though: this is only seen in test-tube research, not in actual people, so it's pretty theoretical. Zileuton already needs liver checks because it can affect liver enzymes, so it's still worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Devil's Claw, just to be safe.

About Zileuton

What Is Zileuton Used For?

Brand names: Zyflo, Zyflo CR

Zileuton is used for the ongoing prevention and treatment of asthma in adults and adolescents aged 12 and older. It is a maintenance medicine — meaning it is taken regularly to keep asthma under control, not to stop an asthma attack once it has started.

Zyflo (the tablet form) and zileuton extended-release tablets are both approved for this same purpose. Neither form should be used to treat a sudden asthma attack. However, both can be continued during a flare-up of asthma while you also use your rescue inhaler.
