Voriconazole falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Epistane interacts with.

Theoretically, concomitant use might have additive adverse hepatotoxic effects.
Epistane is an anabolic androgenic steroid, and more specifically a 17-alpha-alkylated androgen. Therefore, there is concern that epistane has hepatotoxic effects. Also, epistane is structurally similar to epitiostanol, which has been associated with hepatotixicity in a case series of four patients.

Here's the simple version: both Epistane and voriconazole (Vfend) can be tough on your liver, so using them together could double up that strain. Voriconazole isn't a prodrug, and this isn't about it building up in your blood. The worry is added stress on liver cells from two liver-burdening substances at once.

Voriconazole already needs liver monitoring because it can raise liver enzymes and, rarely, cause real liver injury. Watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, nausea, or unusual tiredness. Honestly, Epistane is a liver-toxic designer steroid we'd steer you away from entirely. This concern is theoretical (based on how these act, not hard studies), but please talk with your doctor or pharmacist before mixing them.

It is liver-toxic, can disrupt your natural hormones, and is illegal to sell as a supplement in the US under the Designer Anabolic Steroid Control Act. We strongly recommend avoiding it and talking with a doctor or pharmacist.

About Voriconazole

What Is Voriconazole Used For?

Brand name: Vfend

Voriconazole treats several serious fungal infections. Across all available forms — tablets, oral suspension, and intravenous (IV) injection — it is used for invasive aspergillosis (a dangerous mold infection), candidemia (Candida fungus in the bloodstream) in patients who are not neutropenic (not severely low on white blood cells), other deep-tissue Candida infections, and serious infections caused by Scedosporium apiospermum or Fusarium species in patients who cannot tolerate or have not responded to other antifungal treatments.

Esophageal candidiasis (a Candida infection of the esophagus, the swallowing tube) is also an approved use for most formulations. Note on the oral tablet form (generic voriconazole tablets): that specific tablet formulation is approved for patients aged 12 to 14 years weighing at least 50 kg, and all patients 15 years and older — not for younger or smaller children. The oral suspension and the IV injection are approved for patients 2 years and older for most of these conditions.
