Why this applies to Urokinase

Urokinase falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Jackfruit interacts with.

Theoretically, jackfruit latex might increase the risk of bleeding when taken with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Jackfruit latex, which is the sap from jackfruit bark, contains chemicals that might increase the risk of bleeding. In vitro research shows that jackfruit latex contains a glycoprotein constituent that prolongs the activated partial thrombin time (aPTT) and reduces the activity of blood coagulation factors XIa and alpha-XIIa. Jackfruit latex also contains a protease constituent that has been shown to have fibrinolytic activity in vitro. Other parts of jackfruit, including the fruit and leaves, have not been shown to contain chemicals with fibrinolytic and anticoagulant activity.

Urokinase is a powerful clot-busting medicine given in the hospital to break up dangerous clots, like those in the lungs or in clogged catheters. Because it actively dissolves clots, its main risk is bleeding. The concern here is that jackfruit latex (the sticky sap from the bark, not the fruit you eat) contains compounds that, in lab studies, slowed clotting and helped break down clots too. Stacked on top of urokinase, that could in theory add to your bleeding risk, things like easy bruising, nosebleeds, or harder-to-stop bleeding.

Keep this in perspective. This is based only on test-tube research, and ordinary jackfruit fruit hasn't shown this effect, just the latex. Eating jackfruit as food is very unlikely to matter. Still, since urokinase patients are watched closely, mention any jackfruit supplements to your care team.
