Oliceridine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Lentinan interacts with.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP2D6 include tricyclic antidepressants such as imipramine (Tofranil) and amitriptyline (Elavil); antipsychotics such as haloperidol (Haldol), risperidone (Risperdal), and chlorpromazine (Thorazine); beta-blockers such as propranolol (Inderal), metoprolol (Lopressor, Toprol XL), and carvedilol (Coreg); tamoxifen (Nolvadex); and others.

Here's the gist for Olinvyk (oliceridine), an IV opioid given for short-term, acute pain in a hospital setting. Your body relies heavily on an enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear this medicine. Lab studies hint that lentinan might rev up that enzyme a bit. If that happened, your system could break down oliceridine faster, which could leave it working less effectively, meaning your pain might not be as well controlled.

I want to keep this in perspective, though. This interaction comes only from test-tube and animal research and has never been seen in real patients. On top of that, oliceridine is dosed in the hospital where your care team is watching your pain and adjusting your doses closely. Still, it's worth mentioning any supplements, including shiitake-derived lentinan, to your doctor or pharmacist.

Laboratory research suggests that lentinan might increase the activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans. However, watch for a decrease in the levels of drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 in patients taking lentinan.
Some drugs metabolized by CYP3A4 include lovastatin (Mevacor), ketoconazole (Nizoral), itraconazole (Sporanox), fexofenadine (Allegra), triazolam (Halcion), and numerous others.

What Is Oliceridine Injection Used For?

Brand name: Olinvyk

Olinvyk (oliceridine) injection is approved for adults to manage acute pain that is severe enough to require an intravenous opioid analgesic. It is used only when alternative treatments are ineffective, not tolerated, or otherwise unable to provide adequate pain control.

Because of serious risks including addiction, misuse, overdose, and death, Olinvyk is reserved for situations where other pain management options are not sufficient. It is not intended for routine or chronic pain management.
