Lusutrombopag falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.

Theoretically, moringa leaf extract might increase the levels and clinical effects of P-glycoprotein substrates.
In vitro research shows that moringa leaf extract inhibits renal P-glycoprotein transport activity. So far, this reaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the short version on pairing moringa with lusutrombopag (Mulpleta). Lusutrombopag is carried around the body partly by a transporter called P-glycoprotein, which acts like a little pump. Lab studies (in test tubes and animals, not actual people) suggest moringa leaf extract may slow that pump down. If that happened in your body, more lusutrombopag could stick around, which in theory could nudge up its effects and side effects, things like headache or, rarely, blood clots from platelets climbing too high.

I want to be honest: this is theoretical and has never been reported in humans, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Since this medicine is given for a short window before a procedure, just let your pharmacist or doctor know if you take moringa supplements so they can keep an eye on things.

What Is Lusutrombopag Used For?

Brand name: Mulpleta

Mulpleta (lusutrombopag) is used to treat thrombocytopenia — a low platelet count — in adults who have chronic liver disease and are scheduled to have a procedure. Raising the platelet count before the procedure helps reduce the risk of bleeding.

Mulpleta is taken for a short, fixed course before the procedure. It is not meant to be used to bring platelet counts all the way to normal, or for long-term management of chronic liver disease.
