Moringa + Progesterone
Progesterone brand name: Milprosa.
Moringa has a moderate interaction with Progesterone. Theoretically, moringa might increase or decrease levels of CYP3A4 substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Progesterone
Progesterone falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Moringa interacts with.
Some in vitro research suggests that moringa inhibits cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4). However, other in vitro research suggests that moringa extract induces CYP3A4 enzymes. A pharmacokinetic study in patients with HIV shows no change in the pharmacokinetics of nevirapine, which is partially metabolized by CYP3A4, when administered concomitantly with moringa leaf powder 1.85 grams daily for 14 days.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the short version: your body clears progesterone using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and moringa might nudge that enzyme in either direction. If moringa slows the enzyme down, progesterone could build up a bit, which might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, breast tenderness, bloating, or mood changes. If moringa speeds the enzyme up instead, your progesterone could clear faster and work less well, which matters since its job is to protect your uterine lining during hormone therapy.
Honestly, this is mostly a theoretical concern. The evidence comes from lab studies that disagree with each other, and one human study showed no real effect on a similar medication. Food amounts of moringa are very unlikely to matter, but before using a concentrated supplement, just check with your pharmacist or doctor.

See Every Supplement That Interacts With Progesterone
This page covers Moringa only. If you take other supplements — a multivitamin, a sleep aid, something for joints — the Progesterone page lists 126 supplements it has a documented interaction with, worst first, each one explained.
The most serious there right now: Grapefruit (major), St. John's Wort (major), Acacia Rigidula (moderate), Adrafinil (moderate) and African Wild Potato (moderate).
By severity: 2 major · 91 moderate · 33 minor.
From our pharmacist’s overview on the Progesterone page
“Many people take progesterone (Milprosa) to support a pregnancy during fertility treatment or as part of hormone therapy, which is exactly when St. John's wort for mood or a morning glass of grapefruit juice can feel harmless.”

About Moringa
What is Moringa?
- Nutritional supplement
- Blood sugar support
- Cholesterol support
- Inflammation
- Skin conditions
Moringa is a nutrient-rich plant whose leaves are widely used as a food and supplement, especially in parts of the world where malnutrition is common. Early research hints at possible benefits for blood sugar, cholesterol, and inflammation, but the human evidence is limited and not strong enough to recommend it as a treatment. Talk with your pharmacist or doctor before using moringa, especially if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medications.
About Progesterone
What Is Progesterone Used For?
Brand name: Milprosa
Progesterone capsules (including Prometrium) are used to prevent endometrial hyperplasia (abnormal thickening of the uterine lining) in postmenopausal women with a uterus who are taking estrogen, and to treat secondary amenorrhea (missed periods not caused by pregnancy).
Progesterone injection is indicated for amenorrhea and abnormal uterine bleeding caused by a hormonal imbalance. Crinone vaginal gel is used as part of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) for progesterone supplementation or replacement, and Crinone 4% is also indicated for secondary amenorrhea. Vaginal inserts — including Endometrin and other progesterone vaginal insert products — are used to support embryo implantation and early pregnancy as part of an ART treatment program for infertile women.
