Here's a small thing worth knowing about your birth control pill. The estrogen in it (ethinyl estradiol) can mildly slow down a liver enzyme called CYP1A2, which happens to be the same enzyme that clears caffeine out of your body. So when you sip oolong tea while taking this pill, the caffeine may hang around a little longer than usual.

In plain terms, your tea might hit a bit harder. You could notice jitteriness, a racing heart, trouble sleeping, or feeling wired from less caffeine than you'd expect. The good news: this is a theoretical interaction based on how the drug works, not strong real-world reports, and it doesn't make your birth control less effective. If you're caffeine-sensitive, just go easy on the tea and chat with your pharmacist if it bothers you.
